WHAT TO EXPECT
Before Your Botox Visit
- Avoid blood thinners (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for at least 1 week prior to treatment.
- Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before your appointment to reduce the risk of bruising.
- Inform your provider of any recent illnesses or if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
During Your Botox Visit
- The Botox procedure is quick, typically taking 10-15 minutes depending on the treatment area.
- Small injections will be made with a fine needle; discomfort is minimal and often described as a slight pinch.
- You can talk and move during the procedure, though your provider may ask you to frown or raise your eyebrows for precise placement.
After Your Botox Visit
- Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours to prevent migration of Botox.
- Refrain from strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Results usually start to show within 3-5 days, with full effects visible in 7-10 days. Botox typically lasts 3-4 months; regular touch-ups are recommended for optimal results.
